Warrington distribution scheme to go ahead

warrington-distribution-scheme.jpg
Ministers have cleared away the final hurdles to allow a 3.1 million sq ft Warrington distribution scheme to go ahead, despite initial green belt concerns

The Warrington distribution scheme will be close to junction 20 of the M6 and junction nine of the M56.

The government decided against using its right to intervene in the application from Langtree and Panattoni for the Six56 scheme.

Ministers have moved to unblock the planning system in the North West after green belt concerns lead to half a dozen schemes becoming stranded.

Work on site is unlikely to begin before 2023. Despite the proposal first emerging four years ago, work still needs to be completed on highways issues and a detailed design remains outstanding.
