Voltage Park expected to receive green light

BlackRock UK is expected to win planning permission for a long-awaited 672,000 sq ft logistics development at Voltage Park in south Manchester.

Trafford Council planning officials are recommending approval of the five big box units at Voltage Park.

The 64-acre former gas storage and distribution site is next to the A6144 Manchester Road and Junction 8 of the M60 orbital motorway.

Black Rock are proposing units ranging from 100,000 sq ft to 285,000 sq ft.

The units will have ridge heights of between 13.5 metres and 19 metres. The eaves heights for the proposed development range between 12 metres and 17 metres.

The site, which is thought to include contamination, has long been earmarked for development. The first of the modern sequence of planning approvals for warehousing on the site goes back to 2010.
