Stanton development has expansion plans submitted

Proposals for a 2.5 million sq ft East Midlands logistics scheme on an old iron works site is to go before planners.

The proposals from Verdant Regeneration are for the 200 acre site of the former Stanton iron works.

The scheme is close to junction 25 of the M1 motorway at its intersection with the east-west A52 and could draw labour from both Derby and Nottingham.

Promoted by Verdant Regeneration, a partnership of local firms Ward Recycling and Trust Utilities who operate on the site, the scheme involves plans for a 17-acre rail head.

Erewash district council planners will consider an outline application which could pave the way to units of up to 1 million sq ft.

The plot is part of the wider 450-acre Stanton site.

Letting agents for New Stanton Park are M1 Agency and TBD Real Estate.
