Second scheme approved for Symmetry Park Bicester

 A 270,000 sq ft M42 corridor mid-box scheme has been approved by planners. David Thame reports.

Tritax Symmetry has been granted planning consent by Cherwell District Council for the 14-acre slice of Symmetry Park Bicester.

Planners have approved two potential developments: a single unit of 269,000 sq fty, or two units of 172,000 sq ft and 90,000 sq ft respectively. 

The development is close to junction 9 of the M40 with a frontage to the A41.

Symmetry Park Bicester totals 53 acres and can deliver up to 755,000 sq ft of logistics floor space. The Park is already home to DPD, Ocado, Bentley and Medline Services.

“The flexibility of having planning consent for two scheme options is a real positive that should enable us to react quickly to market conditions,” said Marcus Phayer, Associate Development Director at Tritax Symmetry.

“With existing stock in short supply and with many occupiers focusing on the here and now, we hope to confirm a speculative programme of development for one of the scheme options in the near future.”
