The cake manufacturer has taken a detached warehouse at Pilsworth Road, Heywood, on a 10-year lease at a rental of £5.50 a sq ft.
Gerald Eve and BC Real Estate were instructed to market the property after the previous tenant, Spicers, fell into administration in June 2020. The new facility forms part of Park Cakes’ expansion plans.
“With very few available manufacturing facilities available in the region, we received a high level of interest from the get-go. Our client was planning to undertake a full refurbishment but the fact that occupiers were content to take the space now rather than wait demonstrates the palpable depth in market demand,” said Jason Print, partner at Gerald Eve.
The site is 1.5 miles east of J3 M66 and 1.2miles north-west of J19 M62. The unit is located at Heywood Distribution Park immediately opposite Broadfield Industrial Estate.
