One million sq ft Tritax Symmetry Park gets green light

A one million sq ft logistics park is to be built in Merseyside by Tritax Symmetry after Knowlsey council gave the go ahead.

Tritax Symmetry has secured planning permission for a new 1million sq ft employment park at Symmetry Park in Knowsley, Merseyside.

The scheme includes detailed consent for the first unit of 160,000 sq ft. A further 835,600 sq ft will be developed later.

Symmetry Park Merseyside is east of Junction 6 of the M62. It is one of a handful of Merseyside sites capable of taking logistics development on this scale.

“We will appoint a contractor in the coming weeks and will look to build the first unit out speculatively. In line with our net zero carbon pledge, all of these new buildings will be delivered to net zero carbon in construction in line with UK Green Building Council,” Matt Claxton, planning director at Tritax Symmetry, said.

The project team includes UMC Architects, Gerald Eve (planning), Tier Consulting, The Environmental Partnership (TEP) and Tyler Grange.

Tritax Symmetry is the dedicated logistics developer of Tritax Big Box REIT PLC (TBBR).
