The deal with landlord SEGRO sees the firm add to its existing 68,400 sq ft facility. The Ocado warehouse was originally signed for in 2014.
As part of the deal SEGRO is working with Ocado to add substantial infrastructure to enable the operation of additional electric vehicles from the unit.
The agreement builds on the growing relationship between the two companies, with Ocado, in partnership with M&S, establishing a 304,355 sq ft state-of-the-art customer fulfilment centre at SEGRO Logistics Park Purfleet. The expansion at Origin takes Ocado’s total space within SEGRO’s portfolio to over 400,000 sq ft across three buildings.
Alan Holland, Managing Director, Greater London at SEGRO, said: “The demand for online groceries continues to rise and we are pleased to be able to accommodate Ocado’s expansion at Origin. The quality of the warehouse facilities combined with its location in West London and a vast urban catchment area makes Origin a compelling location.
Park Royal is close to the A40 (Western Avenue), which links to the A406 and M25.
