North West gains speculative mega-shed

One of the North West’s largest ever speculative warehouse developments has been unveiled for a site at Leyland, Lancashire.

Caddick Developments are behind the supersized 557,000 sq ft plans for Farington Par. The large single unit is part of revised plans for phase one of the 40-acre project.

Farington Park is close to the three main Lancashire motorways: the M65, M61 and M6.

The scheme already has outline planning approval, but a surge in demand has prompted Caddick to press ahead with the mega-box scheme.

Construction work is expected to begin next month on what is the region’s only supersized speculative start this year.

The site next to Lancashire Business Park has capacity for 612,500 sq ft.

Joint agents are Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank.
