Developers IM Properties have applied for consent for a 624,000 sq ft warehouse at Peddimore with three mezzanine floors, a total of 2.3 million sq ft.
The warehouse replaces five smaller units that had originally been planned for the 40-acre plot.
In a statement issued to mark the start of construction work at the Peddimore site, IM Properrties said they were in “detailed discussions with an occupier who will create in excess of 1000 jobs, contributing to the thousands of direct and indirect jobs expected to be created through occupiers and related supply chains across the lifetime of the scheme.”
The £355 million scheme is the main sources of new industrial development land immediately adjacent to Birmingham.
Winvic Construction began work on site late last month.
