The 109,700 sq ft unit was developed by New Holland Dock Wharfingers Ltd, part of the Yorkshire based Howarth Timber Group Ltd, for a site on the southbank of the Humber Freeport zone.
A separate 60,000 sq ft warehouse at the North Lincolnshire port is now being refurbished.
New Holland have a further 25 acres of development land and plan to develop a further berth.
The buildings are next to docking for vessels up to 5000 DWT, with a specialism in forest products, steel, project cargo and bagged or palletised goods.
"Having recently widened the scope of cargoes that we handle through the port, we have seen a period of sustained growth and the investment in both existing and new infrastructure demonstrates the company’s ambition to both diversify and to expand. Freeport status is likely to provide the region with new opportunities and it is our strategy to be well positioned and equipped to take full advantage,” General Manager, Paul Holland, said.
