Diggers are moving on site as work begins on Symmetry Park, a 2.3 million sq ft Northamptonshire logistics scheme.

Tritax Symmetry has appointed Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd to carry out the infrastructure works at Symmetry Park, Kettering.

Planners have just given the go-ahead for the initial phase of the site close to Junction 9 of A14 “Trans-European” freight route.

The park has outline consent for up to 2.3 million sq ft in total and can deliver a single building of 1.3 million sq ft. Buckingham is now on site creating fully serviced plateau of 90 acres, with estate road and utilities to suit a range of build to suit requirements.

Neighbouring occupiers to the site include Weetabix, Morrisons and Knights of Old Group.

“The infrastructure works will be completed early next year meaning we can deliver new logistics buildings of up to 1.3 million sq ft by the end of 2022,” said Jonathan Wallis, development director at Tritax Symmetry.

“In line with our net zero carbon pledge, all of these new buildings will be delivered to net zero carbon in construction.”

Joint agents for the scheme are Burbage Realty and BNP Paribas Real Estate.
