B&Q takes distribution centre at Doncaster

B&Q is to take a new 430,000 sq ft seasonal warehouse and distribution centre at Symmetry Park, Doncaster.

B&Q has agreed a 15-year lease on the design and build facility in a deal with developer Tritax Symmetry, adding the distribution centre to its established site at Doncaster.

The facility will be built to net zero carbon in construction, in line with Tritax Symmetry’s commitment for all new buildings to meet this standard.

The site is close to Junction 34 of the A1 (M) on the North Nottinghamshire/South Yorkshire border, and is already home to luxury dog food supplier, Butternut Box, which took a 151,388 sq ft warehouse. 

Tritax, via its parent company, has a long-standing relationship with B&Q and has been the landlord at B&Q’s national core products distribution centre in Worksop since 2005.

The Doncaster site could take another 140,000 sq ft warehouse.

Savills, Dove Haigh Phillips and Colliers advised on the deal.
