The refurbished unit at Poyle is a long-established industrial and logistics centre to the west of Heathrow at Junction 14 of the M25.
Aramex UK, who was advised by Matthews & Goodman, signed a 10-year lease on the site which will provide them with access to the Heathrow Cargo Terminal, Terminal 5 and the national motorway network.
Data from Gerald Eve suggest prime Heathrow industrial rents hover around £15 a sq ft, although many airside deals are appreciably higher.
JLL acted on behalf of the landlord, a client of LaSalle Investment Management. Altus was the joint leasing agent.
Nneka Ejindu, asset manager, LaSalle Investment Management, said: “The facility includes three-storey office accommodation, which has given Aramex UK the flexibility to not only use the site as its main storage and distribution depot, but also as its headquarters facility in the South East, with Heathrow being a gateway to its markets.”
Othman Aljeda, regional CEO for Aramex in Europe, said: “We will equip the building with the latest technologies, for higher capacity, faster sortation process, and reduced transit times. We believe this will allow us to meet the growing customer demand for rapid and more efficient logistics and transportation services.”
