Aldi partner Armstrong Logistics to take 377,000 sq ft site

Aldi partner Armstrong Logistics is to take 377,000 sq ft at Magna Park, Lutterworth as logistics operators snap up the UK’s dwindling stock of ready-to-go warehouses.

Armstrong signed up for a 15 and a half year lease with an starting rent of £6.50 a sq ft in a deal with UK Commercial Property REIT, managed and advised by Aberdeen Standard Investments.

The rent amounts to £2.45 million a year.

Armstrong Logistics is an approved UK logistics partner to ALDI, delivering around one third of the ambient goods on ALDI’s store shelves and working with over 100 of ALDI’s key suppliers across the world.  It already operates from another unit in Magna Park. 

UKCM was advised by CBRE, Savills and Burbage Realty.

In a further sign that occupiers are anxious not to lose their footing in an increasingly competitive logistics property scene, Geberit has signed up for an extra five years on its lease at a Moorfield Group warehouse at Alsager, near Crewe.

The toilet paper business has been operating from the 325,000 sq ft unit close to junction 16 of the M6. 

The new rent has not been disclosed but is sure to be higher than that in the original lease. Moorfield describe the lease renewal as “a significant asset management achievement,” suggesting its value to them.
