BCMPA helping with manufacture and distribution of hand sanitiser

The BCMPA says it is helping with the manufacture and distribution of hand sanitiser and other products amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.

Rodney Steel photo_0817.jpgThe huge demand for hand sanitisers, gels, disinfectants and anti-bacterial wipes is being urgently tackled by members of the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association, who not only have the facilities to blend, fill and pack these products, but as part of their end-to-end service can offer distribution too.

“What started off as orders for tens of thousands of units, has rapidly escalated into millions,” said Rodney Steel, BCMPA chief executive. “Our members are working round the clock to supply wholesalers, retailers and health authorities.”

The Association also has members in the food sector. Where products were originally destined for the food service and hotel industry, members are being asked to repack in SKUs suitable for the retailers. Rapid delivery times are essential to ensure goods remain within their sell-by dates.

“Agility is par for the course within the contract manufacturing and logistics industry and our members are doing a fantastic job rising to the challenge,” added Steel.
