XPO UK Supply Chain MD to present at SHD Conference

XPO Logistics’ UK Managing Director - Supply Chain Gavin Williams is the latest speaker to be confirmed at this year’s SHD Logistics Conference, to be held at the British Museum in London on Tuesday 14th May.

Williams leads the supply chain operations for XPO in the UK and Ireland. He previously managed the business unit responsible for providing customer services to large retailers in the British isles, with a focus on e-commerce fulfilment, reverse solutions and integrated transportation.

Williams will discuss the implementation of smart logistics solutions that are needed to satisfy the modern customer, including automation and collaborative robots in the warehouse, artificial intelligence in load-building and dynamic route optimisation, and integrated tracking during the last mile through devices such as Alexa and Google Assistant.

The conference also features contributions from AB InBev’s Warehouse Specialist John Tudball, who will discuss the company’s automated warehouse project to help store over 20m pints of beer. Prologis’ Simon Cox will also make a guest speaking appearance. As automation becomes rift in the warehouse market, he will be discussing the more sustainable aspects in creating the warehouse of the future by maximising power efficiency.

Delegate passes for this year’s SHD Logistics Conference is available at £245 + VAT until Thursday 14th March. Click here to book your place.
