XPO Logistics has taken a 250,000 sq ft pre-let in Manchester.
The deal with Legal & General Property’s specialist industrial property fund sees the logisitics firm move into a unit at Central Park, Trafford Park.
Together with development partner, Evander, the fund demolished the old unit to create a modern space. The Fund is currently working up further phases for redevelopment which can be delivered in 2017.
In a second deal, the L&G fund has signed Direct Line and Kane International at its Bessemer Road development in Welwyn Garden City. Each will take 25,000 sq ft, joining Travis Perkins who have 50,000 sq ft. work on site is due for completion late this year.
The Fund has also announced the start of speculative construction at “Alchemi” (pictured) a 195,000 sq ft warehouse in Crick, Northamptonshire, with completion anticipated this autumn. The site lies adjacent to J18 of the M1 Motorway and is considered to be situated in one of the most highly-regarded distribution sites in the UK.
