Construction work has begun on a 35-acre Wiltshire logistics scheme. Developer HPH Commercial Property says ground works are underway at the site which could see units of up to 250,000 sq ft.
More than 500,000 sq ft of development is anticipated at Hawke Ridge business park between Trowbridge and Westbury.
HPH’s managing director Lindsay Holdoway warns that a lack of industrial space threatens the potential growth of the region’s economy.
“We have seen rents rising for the first time in many years, in some instances by up to 15% per year, and these increases in value have triggered the ability to completely refurbish some of our older units to make them more energy efficient and responsive to our occupiers’ needs,” he said.
