Further to its announcement of 6th November 2015, the acquisition of Apex Linvar Limited by pan-European storage equipment manufacturing group Whittan Group was completed on Friday 22nd January 2016, following clearance by the Competition and Markets Authority earlier in the month.
The complementary strengths of the Apex and Whittan businesses will enable the enlarged group to realise the many growth opportunities available in the market, and to improve our combined product and service offer to customers.
As a result of the acquisition there will be some immediate Whittan Group senior management changes. Andrew Butler, currently Chief Executive, becomes Chairman of the Board of the enlarged group and Ian Smith, currently Managing Director of Apex Linvar, becomes Whittan Group Chief Executive.
Back in November, Butler said: “We are looking forward to working with the Apex team to capitalise on the many growth opportunities available to the combined group across the UK and Europe.”
Smith added: “Apex has a long heritage in the storage solutions sector and an exciting future. Together with the Whittan team, we are looking forward to improving the combined group’s product and service capabilities to drive superior customer outcomes.”
Apex joins brands such as Link 51, Polypal and Hi-Store in the Telford-based Whittan Group.
