Voiteq projects a smarter voice with largest international user Group

Voiteq’s Sixth User Group Hits Record High Attendee Numbers with Delegates from the UK, France, Germany and North America.

Blackpool, UK 29th June 2016. Voiteq, global providers of Voice-Directed Work, hosted its 6th annual Voice User Group. Hitting a record high, the company welcomed over 150 delegates from all over the world including UK, France, Germany and North America. Held in the UK, Voiteq’s Voice User Group (VUG) has become the largest of its kind in the industry.

Themed “Smarter Voice” to emphasise the importance of intelligent process improvement, management information and predictive analytics in today’s supply chain operations, the event provided delegates with the opportunity to network with peers, hear from industry experts and view live demonstrations. New solutions and product roadmaps were shared by Voiteq and selected partners such as this year’s platinum sponsor, Honeywell. Highlights of the day included customer presentations from Wilko, John Lewis and Oxford University Press as well as guest speaker James Osborn, strategy manager at Sainsbury’s, who introduced his thoughts on the six emerging trends in the retail space.

Isabel McCabe, managing director, Voiteq Ltd said: “Our annual Voice User Group has become a must-attend event for our customers and for prospective customers looking to introduce voice into their business.

We’re focused on offering our attendees an interactive and informative day so we dedicate a lot of time and resource to ensuring we provide relevant and compelling information. This year we took collaboration to the next level with our real-time event app that enabled delegates to participate in live polls as well as ask and ‘up-vote’ questions directly from their smartphones; providing a truly unique experience.”

Paula Hart, support and development manager at Oxford University Press remarked: “VUG 2016 was a great investment of a day’s time, providing the opportunity to hear from industry experts about the latest developments in voice whilst also networking with others in a professional, yet informal, environment.”

Ian Beswick, operational leader at Wilko commented: “The conference was very engaging and informative, there was a perfect mix of experts and providers presenting. It was great to see some of the initiatives Voiteq is working on, which certainly created some thoughts at Wilko about what more we could do with voice.”

Polls run during the event validated the Smarter Voice theme with 80 per cent of participants indicating that business intelligence forms a large part of the day-to-day running of their operations. Following an update on the use of voice for receiving at Castell Howell Foods, polls confirmed that 80 per cent of participants would consider adding Voiteq voice to their receiving function. Together with the John Lewis case study of voice loading, this confirmed that Voiteq’s voice solutions offer compelling benefits well beyond the picking process.

“Voiteq’s user group is insightful and provides the ideal platform to share experiences and learn from likeminded people, remarked William Armitage, Development Manager Operations & Systems for Distribution at John Lewis. “This year I was asked to speak about our use of Voiteq voice in our loading area, it was a privilege to be able to share best-practices and to meet the wider Voiteq team as well as other users.”

David Stanhope, CEO of Centriq Group, parent company of Voiteq and Cirrus Logistics, added: “We continue to grow significantly as a group and in the development of our solutions portfolio. The invaluable feedback we receive at events such as this enables us to keep customers central to our innovation and growth. We were also delighted to share the advancements we have made in taking voice to inspection and in-store environments as well as showcasing our new business intelligence tools which will further improve our customers’ insight and analysis of their operations.”

As part of Voiteq’s interactive demo room, delegates were also able to meet with and view demonstrations from Voiteq’s partners: Cirrus Logistics, Honeywell, Exponential-e, Cubiscan (EXDS) and ICC.
