Shopware, one of Germany’s leading manufacturers of e-commerce platforms, has appointed Deepak Anand as its new General Manager UK.

"The UK market is the largest and most dynamic digital market in Europe, and we are delighted to have Deepak with us to lead our planned expansion," said Stefan Heyne, CEO of Shopware. Deepak has many years' experience in sales and e-commerce in the UK, including the e-commerce platform Magento, and will help further establish Shopware in the local market."
Anand said: "Shopware has a true vision and best-of-breed functionalities. I am really excited to take this open source e-commerce platform to the UK. Based on my experience, the UK market is searching for the solution that Shopware has to offer."

Anand will be spending a couple of weeks at Shopware’s headquarters in Schöppingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany before returning to London. From there, he will take Shopware’s passion to the UK market and expand the reach of partners and brands.

One of the first important dates in his calendar is the Internet Retailing Expo in Birmingham on 5th and 6th April 2017. Attracting 5,000 visitors and over 250 exhibitors, the event is a highlight of the year for e-commerce fans in the UK market.
Anand would also be glad to talk about disruptive technologies in e-commerce at the Shopware booth (number F33), which he sees as huge challenges in the short and medium term, but also as opportunities for e-commerce in the UK.
