Vanderlande was named as the Best Employer for the Production and Industry category in The Netherlands.
This notable achievement for the supplier of automated material handling systems was reinforced by the accolade of finishing third in the national category for companies with “more than 1,000 employees”, thanks to an impressive rating of 8.1 for overall employee satisfaction.
This is the seventh year in succession that Vanderlande has been officially recognised as one of the best employers in The Netherlands. The announcement also confirms that the Veghel-based company is the best employer in the country’s North Brabant province.
Vanderlande attributes its success primarily to the level of pride exhibited by its loyal employees and the fact that the organisation is striving to achieve clear strategic goals. With regard to personnel, the company is particularly proud of the enthusiasm, knowledge and pride shown by its employees.
The people at Vanderlande are key to the future development of the organisation and it places a strong emphasis on the ethics of teamwork and responsibility. The company offers an innovative technical working environment with a wide range of personal development opportunities, thanks in part to its academy and talent development programmes.
“The recognition that we are one of the best employers in The Netherlands – as well as being number one in our category and province – demonstrates the commitment of our employees and helps us to recruit talent from the labour market,” says Bert van der Sluis, the HR Director at Vanderlande.
“Our service-based activities are continuing to grow and the implementation of the projects that we manage in more than 100 countries around the world requires an ongoing influx of talented employees. Our staff are crucial to the achievement of our ambitions for growth. In a world of technology, we believe in the power of the people.”
The position in the ranking given to organisations is based on the overall satisfaction of their employees. The respondents in the survey to find the best employers were questioned on elements such as: satisfaction with the organisation and work; pride in the organisation; the provision of space and opportunities for employees to be able to perform to the best of their abilities; and the demonstration of appreciation for employees' achievements.
Among other things, Vanderlande scored exceptionally well on commitment, loyalty and employee tenure, and its third place for the national category of companies with over 1,000 employees was achieved in a field of 332 organisations. The Best Employer survey is conducted annually by Effectory in order to reach an objective judgement on the standard of employer practices in The Netherlands.
