The United Kingdom Warehousing Association’s (UKWA’s) Chief Executive Officer, Peter Ward, has been appointed to the board of the Institute of Export and International Trade (IOE&IT).
Peter Ward has over 30 years’ experience in international transportation, logistics and supply chain management and has held senior positions with Fritz Companies, P&O Nedlloyd Logistics and DP World London Gateway. He joined UKWA as CEO in 2014.
Peter Ward commented: “I am delighted to accept the invitation to join the IOE&IT’s board of directors. It has never been more important for businesses to have access to the kind of support they need to be able to trade internationally with confidence and, by developing closer ties with the IOE&IT, UKWA will be able to provide its members with even better guidance as companies across all industry sectors look to extend their international reach in the post-Brexit world.”
Lesley Batchelor OBE, Director General of the IOE&IT, said: “The Institute is the leading authority in best practice and competence for businesses trading globally and we believe Peter’s experience will be extremely beneficial to us. We are very pleased to have him ‘on board’.”
Established in 1935, the IOE&IT offers a range of services designed to support companies involved in importing, exporting and international trade, while UKWA represents over 700 companies operating in the warehousing and logistics sector.
