Two Yorkshire logistics sites prepared for development

Two massive Yorkshire logistics sites are being readied for development

St Francis Group has bought the 130-acre former Eggborough Power Station close to junction 34 of the M62 motorway at near Pontefract.

St Francis Group intend to promote the site for a number of industrial and logistics units in a range of sizes to take advantage of its key strategic location fronting the A19, only 1 mile north of junction 34. Occupiers with build to suit requirements will also be targeted.

In a separate move,  nearly half of the land at a 66-acre site at Dalton New Bridge, near Thirsk, is now under offer.

The site is close to the A1 (M) and the A19, connecting swiftly to Yorkshire’s excellent motorway network of the M1 and the M62 and leading on to the national motorway network.

Land is available on a freehold basis with plots on offer from five acres to buildings up to 400,000 sq ft.

Mike Dove, partner at letting agent Dove Haigh Phillips, said: “In view of the pent-up need for quality industrial space in North Yorkshire, it is likely that developers will want both to build speculatively and to create bespoke buildings for specific occupiers.

“This is one of the premier development sites to come to market in Yorkshire this year. It has tremendous potential, with immediate access to the national motorway network, recently improved by multi-million pound highway upgrades. A proven location has just got even better.”
