With just two months to go until the highlight of the freight and logistics calendar, have you booked your table yet?
The Global Freight Awards 2015 is taking place on Thursday 19th November at The Grosvenor House Hotel, on Park Lane, London.
A finalist again this year is Crane Worldwide Logistics, who will therefore be present at this dazzling event. Vice-president EMEA at Crane Worldwide Logistics, Gerard Ryan, said: “As winners of the prestigious Employer of the Year award in 2014, Crane Worldwide Logistics recognise the importance of being selected by our peers in the industry at the Global Freight Awards.
“In an industry that struggles with a talent shortage, being nominated as the winner of Employer of the Year category certainly helped to attract further talent into our business.
“Our business is people driven; the relationships and trust between our employees and our customers is key to our success, and having the right people in place is of key strategic importance to us.
“Crane Worldwide Logistics has seen further growth in the EMEA region in 2015 with a significant number of new business wins helping us to achieve our growth targets. Having great people on board has driven this success.
“We are looking forward to the 2015 ceremony and wish all finalists the best of luck at the awards.”
One of the respected judges, Dr Andrew Traill, principal technologist - logistics and freight, at Transport Systems Catapult, commented: "There is always a strong sense of personal responsibility to ensure we select the most deserving winners of these Awards; we owe it to the entrants and to the freight and logistics industry. Being able to confide with other judges, respected experts and peers, brings confidence to the judgement we collectively make.
“It is difficult to choose the winners when the standard is so high, yet, for me, the winners usually stand apart from others based on originality, boldness, and their commitment to making a very real difference to their industry, their employees, and to their customers. It is a privilege to help make those most deserving gain recognition for what they are doing and seeking to do."
Paul Kelly, founder and lead consultant at Actualis Marketing, another esteemed judge, said: “Having composed and submitted many award entries down the years, it was fascinating to experience the absolute diligence of the judging process.
“I was particularly struck by the care with which my fellow judges considered every entry, the quality of debate, and the consistent level of consensus we reached; even in the face of so many deserving submissions.
“There was a colossal amount of experience around the judging table; with UK and international practitioners, trade associations, lobbyists, media figures and a variety of consultants, which was necessary to appreciate and do justice to the quality of submissions vying for each of the awards.”
An overwhelming number of entries for the event have been received this year compared with previous years, and Lloyd’s Loading List.com would like to thank all of its fantastic sponsors, wonderful judges, and everyone who took the time to enter the Global Freight Awards, as well as offer huge congratulations to the 2015 finalists.
