Toyota has once again been confirmed as the world's largest supplier of fork lift trucks, according to the latest rankings published by influential German magazine dhf-intralogistik. Crown was the only climber in the top 10, moving past Hyster-Yale to take fourth spot.
Combined global sales of the Toyota group brands - Toyota, Raymond, CESAB and BT - accounted for 23.24% in 2015/16 (up from 22.06%) of the world market in turnover, according to the calculations of dhf-intralogistik. The Kion Group - with brands including Linde, Still, OM, Fenwick and Baoli - once again remained in a solid second place with 15.85%, similar to last year's 15.66%.
These two were once again well clear of Jungheinrich in third with 8.56% of the market, almost exactly the same as the previous year's 8.36%.
US-owned manufacturer Crown Equipment leapt from 6.30% market share to 7.40%, taking it past Hyster-Yale (distributed in the UK by Briggs Equipment) with 7.23%, up from 6.97%.
The top 10 was completed by Mitsubishi Nichiyu Forklift, Cargotec, UniCarriers (Atlet/TCM), Manitou and Anhui Heli.
