Toyota retains global top slot

Toyota has once again been confirmed as the world's largest supplier of fork lift trucks, according to the latest rankings published by influential German magazine dhf-intralogistik. Crown was the only climber in the top 10, moving past Hyster-Yale to take fourth spot.

Combined global sales of the Toyota group brands - Toyota, Raymond, CESAB and BT - accounted for 23.24% in 2015/16 (up from 22.06%) of the world market in turnover, according to the calculations of dhf-intralogistik. The Kion Group - with brands including Linde, Still, OM, Fenwick and Baoli - once again remained in a solid second place with 15.85%, similar to last year's 15.66%.

These two were once again well clear of Jungheinrich in third with 8.56% of the market, almost exactly the same as the previous year's 8.36%.

US-owned manufacturer Crown Equipment leapt from 6.30% market share to 7.40%, taking it past Hyster-Yale (distributed in the UK by Briggs Equipment) with 7.23%, up from 6.97%.

The top 10 was completed by Mitsubishi Nichiyu Forklift, Cargotec, UniCarriers (Atlet/TCM), Manitou and Anhui Heli.
