Following the successful opening of TNT’s South West super depot in Swindon in October 2015, TNT has announced plans for a new international road hub and combined domestic regional sort centre in the Dartford area.
The multi-million euro development is part of the company’s on-going strategy to invest in its core European network and enhance operational efficiency and service quality. The state-of-the-art bespoke 600,000 sq ft site is expected to open in quarter two 2017.
Steve Meadows, International Network and Operations Director TNT UK International and Ireland, said: "We’re delighted to announce this new phase of investment in our network. The Dartford area was chosen for its strong road links and proximity to the South East of England and Greater London, as well as both ferry and Eurotunnel services."
The development is being carried out by Exton Estates, a commercial property company specialising in the development of office and industrial property in London and the South East, in partnership with CWC Group.
James Mawson, Director of Exton Estates, said: "We are pleased to be working with TNT on this new distribution hub and will have the building ready for handover to them in September. We believe that the site’s premier location, just off Junction 1a of the M25, will ensure that TNT can operate successfully, drawing on good quality employment from the Dartford area."
