Construction work has begun on a 3m sq ft Yorkshire logistics hub and speculation about the future of a handful of large retailer requirements grows.
Aire Valley Land LLP, a joint venture between Evans Property Group and Keyland Developments, has started work on site at its 165 acre Temple Green logistics hub within Leeds Enterprise Zone.
A £7.5m infrastructure and groundwork programme has begun which opens the way to 3m sq ft on the site at junction 45 of the M1 motorway.
Once completed the main spine road will open up the 25-acre Phase 2 site which can accommodate up to 500,000 sq ft of industrial, advanced manufacturing, storage and distribution floor space.
The move comes as market speculation centres on TK Maxx who are understood to have a 500,000 sq ft Yorkshire requirement and are close to a deal.
Peter Garrett, managing director of Keyland Developments, said: “The site’s scale and potential is immense and we can now demonstrate how major units of 500,000 sq ft can be accommodated within the phases.”
Letting agent on Temple Green is Dove Haigh Phillips.
