Automation specialist Swisslog has appointed Susan Peake as system support manager.
Susan has a strong technical background and a wealth of experience in software and customer service, combined with a proven track record of success within Technical Support, Project and Transition Management.
“With the increasing importance of service teams in the smooth running of major client operations, the decision to appoint an experienced team leader was an easy one,” says head of UK customer service, Steve Thorp.
“We were delighted to welcome Susan to the team and consider it a great coup for the organisation to appoint someone with such a wealth of talent and knowledge. We are investing heavily in system support, as this is an important area of growth in the industry.
"Software is vital to the running of our customers’ control centres and Susan’s programming knowledge, customer liaison with blue chip companies and business management skills are an ideal mix.
“Maintaining a successful automated logistics installation can be demanding. With our experienced system support team, we can determine the best way to get the most out of customers’ facilities, reduce costs and streamline their material flows. Working side by side with customers, we provide round the clock service to enhance warehouse management software and controls, thus making their overall management systems more effective.
“Business benefits brought about by features such as paperless picking, stock consolidation, and order management have given our customers opportunities to maximise their investments during times of great challenge and change.
“To maintain our position at the forefront of delivering leading automated solutions, we not only need to know and understand customers and their requirements, but also continue to develop the benefits made possible by the technology, including software. In my view, it’s what makes this role such an important one.”
Susan joins the business as interest in automation is growing rapidly on the back of advances in technology, the rise of e-commerce and the development of advanced logistics operations. Her role will include the control, monitoring and assessment of the support service infrastructure, as well as setting and refining KPIs and service level agreements.
