Birmingham-based Stoford Developments is to joining forces with Mountpark Logistics to develop the 59-acre Avalon Works site at Avonmouth, Bristol.
The site, which recently acquired by Mountpark from Astra Zeneca UK has full planning permission for 1,288,000 sq ft of distribution in up to four units ranging from 150,000 sq ft to one million sq ft.
In a separate development Stoford and Mountpark Logistics are also delivering 400,000 sq ft of warehouse space at Central Park, Avonmouth with design and build units of various sizes, up to a single unit of 400,000 sq ft.
The site is adjacent to another project at Central Park delivered by Stoford - a £90 million, 1.2 million sq ft regional distribution hub for The Range.
The new development at Avlon Works is the latest in a series of deals between the two companies. They have already joined forces to deliver major industrial and warehouse schemes at Wakefield Europort in Yorkshire and at Airport City, Manchester.
Site preparation work is already underway and construction is expected to begin early next year. The site is near the new M49 junction, and within easy reach of the M4, M5 and M48 motorways. Intermodal facilities are offered by the docks at Avonmouth and Royal Portbury, and the nearby rail freight terminal.
