Eddie Stobart is to take 420,000 sq ft at Prologis’ DIRFT II rail freight terminal. Stobart already occupies several buildings at the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal.
The new building, which will be cross-docked, has been designed to achieve BREEAM ‘excellent’ accreditation and an EPC A rating. Construction will begin in November, with completion scheduled for next summer.
The deal means that the DIRFT II site is now fully occupied. Andrew Griffiths, managing director, Prologis UK, said: “DIRFT II is now complete, but with our ongoing investment in DIRFT III, we can continue to offer our customers the best opportunities in the market for rail-served distribution facilities.”
JLL and Burbage Realty acted for Prologis and Roebuck Asset Management represented Eddie Stobart.
