Plans for 300,000 sq ft of new warehousing and office space will go before Solihull planners tomorrow (Wednesday 5th October) with a recommendation to approve.
A subsidiary of U+I is behind the plan for a site at Birmingham business park on land south of Solihull Parkway. Three units are proposed with a height of 13.5m to the roof apex, amounting to 2,070 jobs if fully utilised.
The Park is already home to the new Rolls Royce engine plant which is 14m to the roof apex.
Council officers recommended approval of the plan, which is on a former greenfield site, because the economic benefits outweigh the scheme’s demerits.
