ProGlove, a company that creates smart gloves with a detachable barcode scanner, has won over the hearts and minds of the British logistics and manufacturing sector at Smart Factory Expo in Liverpool.
Their Mark One S scanning system replaces the well-known handheld scanners by integrating a detachable scanner on the back of the glove. This allows the person wearing it to scan hands-free and, so claims the company, save 4 seconds per scan.
The second edition of the Smart Factory Expo gathered a very strong selection of UK’s most innovation-savvy logistics and manufacturing companies. Most visitors were there to find new software and hard solutions to grow, expand, or improve current processes. ProGlove’s smart gloves gained a lot of attraction, as they allow companies to improve their processes by simply changing scanning systems and without any labour intensive implementations.
The startup is riding a wave of success after also stealing the show at MTC’s Digitalising Manufacturing event. Their pitch and simplicity of the product quickly convinced people of the concept of hands-free scanning.
“The reaction of everyone we meet can be quite overwhelming at times and now we need to make sure that we deliver what we have promised,” says business developer at ProGlove Aaron Windmueller.
