Siemens Intralogistics’ business development manager Rachel Price has been confirmed as the final confirmed session speaker for this year’s SHD Logistics Conference, to be held at the British Museum on Tuesday 14th May.
In her session, entitled Connecting Intralogistics – a pragmatic, technology-enabled approach to boost operational efficiency, Price will discuss how technology-enabled customers is fuelling Industry 4.0, which is seeing them demand lower cost goods, quicker delivery times and a huge selection of available products. Price will touch on the high demand for individualised products and these factors combined with exponential growth of structural and data complexity of logistics networks and supply chains will heed the advancement of Industry 4.0 as there is no way to efficiently master these constantly growing challenges without technology.
Price will provide a detail account on:
- How Siemens, one of the top ten global software companies, have solved pain points for blue chip clients such as Amazon and Ocado
- Discovering how to use IoT cloud-based operating systems to improve existing systems and processes
- Effectively harnessing RFID to track assets and inventory, increasing operational efficieny in warehouses and depots
Price is a Business Development Manager in the Intralogistics vertical sector at Siemens. She assists businesses to digitally transform their logistical processes, increasing their operational efficiencies. She works with customers to understand their pain points such as increasingly demanding delivery times and increasing pressure to keep the cost to serve at a minimum and advises how to ensure they are maximising productivity from their assets.
Price has worked in the industry for the last eight years and has spoken at key events such as Insider Media Roundtables and the International Festival of Business. She has also judged the Made in the Northwest and Made in the UK awards. Prior to that Rachel ran her own marketing business and designed her own product, the Garden Gopher, where she appeared on Dragons Den.
This year's keynote at the SHD Logistics Conference will be the Head of Logistics James Turpin and Supply Chain Director Chris Holmes from NHS Supply Chain. The event will also feature a session from the Customer and Industry Insight manager from workforce software solutions provider Kronos' UK and Ireland subsidiary, Neil Pickering, in the headline sponsor session.
This keynote session will also be supported by insightful presentations from AB InBev’s warehouse specialist John Tudball, a company that brews lager brands Budweiser and Corona. Tudball’s session will be followed by XPO Logistics’ UK Supply Chain Managing Director Gavin Williams, Prologis UK sustainability officer Simon Cox, and a Digital Leaders Panel chaired by logistics consultants BearingPoint. B&Q and Screwfix brand owner Kingfisher completes the speaker agenda for the event.
