SHD Logistics Conference to hold Digital Leaders panel debate

SHD Logistics will hold a special panel debate on the operational practices of what makes a digital enabler at our annual SHD Logistics Conference. The event will be held on Tuesday 14th May at the British Museum.

The hour-long session, dubbed Establishing a digital culture within your logistics operations – Digital Leaders debate, is based on logistics consultancy BearingPoint’s latest Digital Leaders research.

UK companies are facing a challenging time regarding digitalisation and the rapid growth in the digital age. The UK has the world’s third-largest e-commerce market, so pressure and competition are expectedly rife.

The study by BearingPoint, released November 2018, assessed 72 companies’ digital maturity across 10 industries, including the Logistics industry. The study’s findings showed that the Logistics industry had a lot of catching up to do compared to other industries, but why is it that Logistics companies are lagging, and what can they do to establish a digital culture within their organisation?

Speakers include James Hyde, Co-founder and CEO, James and James Fulfilment, Jim Bowes, digital thought leader and CEO and co-founder of TPX Manifesto, Kyle Fedyszyn, Head of Marketing & Digital, Hermes.

Jim set up Manifesto, the London based agency in 2011, designing digital services and products around the needs of users. He is also Chief Innovation Officer and Founding Partner of The Panoply - a group of digitally-native technology services companies assembled to meet the needs of the fourth industrial revolution.

James co-founded James & James Fulfilment in 2010. The company provides outsourced fulfilment services to independent retailers, founded on its own unique technology and processes. While Kyle’s role at Hermes has seen him implement radical digital changes, including introducing a data science approach, econometrics and attribution to transform the online customer experience and drive revenue growth as Hermes looks to become the consumer’s carrier of choice.

The panel will be moderated by Natasha Tyrrell, Business Development - Retail & Digital Strategy, BearingPoint. With over 20 years of corporate experience, Natasha has worked across a wide range of sectors, holding senior roles in technology, entertainment and automotive, including Managing Director (Northern Europe) at Sony DADC, and Distribution Services Director (UK & Scandinavia) and Supply Chain Director (Major Studios UK) at Technicolor.

In 2015, Natasha founded the Genii Group, a business designed to help people and organisations enhance their lifestyle, wellness and wellbeing through its products and services.
