SHD announces British Museum as venue for Spring Conference

SHD Logistics is delighted to announce that London’s British Museum has been confirmed as the venue for the SHD Logistics Conference on 17th April 2018.

Themed Transforming Logistics Through Technology, the SHD Logistics Conference highlights some of the key technology concepts and innovations infiltrating the logistics market. Research from Barclays Corporate Banking and Moore Stephens’ The Logistics Confidence Survey 2017 depicted that around 60% of survey respondents will likely prioritise optimising the use of technology in 2022.

The survey also suggests that capital expenditure expectations are more positive in 2017 than in H2 2016, with over three-quarters (77%) anticipating they will increase spending over the next 12 months and the number stating they are “very likely” to increase spending up 2% on last year at 31%. This suggests a greater appetite for investment technology, fleets and warehouse capabilities.

The programme is set to include key topics such as understanding blockchain and its significance to the global supply chain, and how robotics and automation are creating competitive advantage. Wincanton’s W2 Labs programme, aimed at challenging start-ups to develop innovative solutions to industry challenges, will be highlighted by Wincanton Business Optimisation and Transformation director Marcos Hart.

Also, projects including those from Think Logistics, presented by ex-Senior Traffic Commissioner Beverley Bell CBE, and case study accounts including from The Logistics Awards overall winner Pharmacy2U will also be covered.

There will be ample opportunity for attendees to network with like-minded professionals in the logistics market, including a new concept this year called Speed Meeting where delegates can win a prize if they record the highest number of meetings with our exhibitor partners within a short timeframe.
