SEGRO has bought a 6.5 acre site in Bracknell ahead of a 400,000 sq ft development.
The plot is next to its existing 13 acre V Park which was purchased earlier in the year. Combined they open the way to a 400,000 sq ft logistics scheme.
The site which is located on Ellesfield Avenue, Southern Industrial Estate, is less than a mile from the A329(M) and four miles from the M4 motorway.
The move comes as the M4 logistics scene picks up speed. Earlier this month Legal & General Property confirmed that it is to speculatively develop a 77,000 sq ft Bracknell warehouse.
Gareth Osborn, Thames Valley Business Unit Director, SEGRO, said: “There is strong occupier demand for modern logistics and light industrial facilities in Bracknell. By acquiring this land, neighbouring the site we bought in February, we will be able to create a 20 acre estate which will offer new employment opportunities to the local area.”
SEGRO bought the site from German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, and was advised by Lambert Smith Hampton. Bilfinger GVA advised Boehringer Ingelheim.
