SEC Group marketing director Dean Kahl along with his colleagues, project sales director Gary Kirk and managing director Steve Watts, will be taking on the Transaid London to Paris Cycle Challenge in September, aiming to raise £5,000.
According to their Just Giving page, the trio will cycle from the UK capital to the French equivelant in just three days, finishing at Paris' Eiffel Tower. The SEC team is hoping to raise awareness towards Transaid, an international development charity that identifies champions, implements and shares local transport solutions which improve access to basic services and economic opportunity for poor people in developing countries.
"We believe passionately in the work that Transaid does. In the UK we take for granted the role the logistics industry plays in our lives, from delivering goods to supermarkets to emergency healthcare. Having recently sponsored a Bicycle Ambulance which will be used in Sub-Saharan Africa we were compelled to continue our fundraising for Transaid," said the trio.
While Dean is a keen mountain biker, he has yet to test his skills out on a road bike. Gary and Steve also possess little experience, puitting into the perspective the magnitude of the challenge.
