A-Safe recognised nationally for innovation

A-Safe joined the best manufacturing companies in the UK at the fifth annual Made in the UK Awards event, where regional businesses compete nationally to be recognised for excellence in the manufacturing sector.

The safety barrier specialist won the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Award category –described by judges as a ‘fiercely tight contest’. Initially shortlisted thanks to a constant strive to develop and invent unique safety solutions across the industry, it was also praised by judges for exceptional overseas growth, accounting for over 75% of its total business profits in 2016.

The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation category presented a chance for A-SAFE to showcase RackEye – a combined device, remote app and digital dashboard that provides around-the-clock, real-time monitoring of racking structures, alerting users remotely when damage is detected so they can intersect and take action. This industry first is set to revolutionise the way warehouses manage critical racking structures.

The Made in the UK manufacturing awards event took place at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on 22 June, sponsored by the Department for International Trade. The awards ceremony was hosted by TV personality Gethin Jones, and brought regional winners from the past 12 months together to compete in the same category at national level.

The win comes at an exciting and positive time for A-SAFE, after they were also shortlisted in HSBC’s International Track 200 this month, a nationally recognised league table that ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales. A-SAFE comfortably made the list after reaching 48.54% in its two-year average international sales growth per annum.

The Sunday Times league table and awards programme is sponsored by HSBC and DHL Express, and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.

Co-Owner and Director of A-Safe James Smith commented: “To be recognised in both a national league table and awards ceremony during the same month is a fantastic achievement for us. We started out as a small business, and each of these achievements is confirmation that we’re driving the business forward and embracing A-SAFE’s exceptional growth. The awards event also gave us a chance to showcase RackEye, a product which we believe will transform warehouse safety, changing operations for the better.”
