The RTITB Operator of the Year competition launched in December last year with an initial online theory test.
Of the thousands of eligible operators who entered, those that completed the test were automatically put into a prize draw to win a 16GB iPad Mini with WiFi.
Now, the largest lift truck training accrediting body in the UK and Ireland has announced that the lucky winner of the iPad was 28-year old Thomasz Gastala from Burton. He is trained by B&Q Wincanton, where he has also been employed for seven years. Although he wasn’t successful in his bid to reach the competition heats at the NEC, the training firm hopes that this prize will offer some consolation to not making the final stages of the contest. Speaking about the competition, Thomasz said: “I was really hoping to get through to the heats and test myself. I think this competition is absolutely fantastic!”
The online test proved to be a strong competition this year and the operators who qualified for the heats were of a very high standard.
The Grand Final of the competition takes place on the 20th September 2013 at RTITB’s headquarters in Telford and will see 10 finalists put through their paces in a bid to be crowned the RTITB Operator of the Year 2013 and drive away in a new car The event is open to the public and is free to attend.
