ROI vital when capital is scarce

ROI vital when capital is scarce

Rob Riddleston, head of the Transport & Logistics team at Barclays Corporate, tells us why Awards category ‘Return on Investment’, is an important one to recognise, and why he will lead the judging of this category.

“Return on Investment decisions are vital when a business is considering how to spend scarce capital on new projects," says Rob, a Corporate Banker with 25 years’ experience, twelve of which have been focussed on the transport and logistics sector.

“I fully recognise the importance of ensuring all investments achieve an acceptable Return on Investment to ensure operational excellence is maintained at all times.”

2015 is the first year the SHD Logistics Awards will recognise operational excellence from capital investment and its return.

The SHD Logistics Awards judging panel, will be looking for the following criteria for the Return on Investment Award category:

- Investment within the supply chain or warehousing aspect of any business that has brought a tangible return;

- Innovative funding initiatives

- Supporting data (where applicable), eg before/after figures, ROI and headcount
