Prologis today announced that it will speculatively develop a 275,000 square foot distribution centre at its site at Marston Gate, Milton Keynes.
The new unit will be next to the 151,000 sq ft national distribution centre that Prologis is building for furniture retailer Dwell, the speculative facility will complete the second phase of Prologis Park Marston Gate. A deal on the building was announced earlier this week.
Construction will begin this month and the unit is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2017. Providing around 1.8 million square feet in total, Prologis Park Marston Gate is located to the south east of Milton Keynes, next to Junction 13 of the M1. Situated at the heart of the UK motorway network, the park provides easy access to consumer markets in the Midlands, the South and the South East.
Andrew Griffiths, managing director, Prologis UK., said: “This distribution centre builds on the success of our two recent phases of speculative development and it is the largest speculative building to be constructed in the UK since the Brexit vote. Although the referendum caused a hiatus in speculative development, demand has remained constant.”
