Prologis launches pan-European charitable giving initiative

Prologis, the UK’s leading developer of industrial logistics parks, is launching a pan-European charitable giving initiative, which will see the Solihull-based property company and its European counterparts giving back to charitable causes across Europe throughout December.

Prologis’ newly formed EU Charity Action Team (CHAT), along with the company’s employees, customers, and supply chain have come together for the month-long ‘Dock Doors of Giving’ campaign which aims to return over €200,000 (£178,000) to charities, good causes and community groups across Europe.

Based on the successful ‘Dock Doors of Christmas’ initiative, run by the UK team at Prologis for the past two years, the new campaign involves dividing the month into a number of themed initiatives and awareness days. The month-long event will raise money and support for charities, give back to local communities, and make a difference where it’s needed most.

COVID-19 has seen many smaller charities struggle as people choose to shift their funding towards some of the larger health-based charities or food banks; as a result, many have been unable to organise their usual fundraising events.

The EU-wide campaign will highlight the big difference that smaller charities, community, groups, and volunteers can make to a community. It will also help demonstrate how large companies and their customers can be a force for good in the communities they serve.

“The Dock Doors of Giving campaign is about so much more than donating money. It’s about donating our time, pledging to buy gifts, donating food or other essential items and raising awareness of these charities and good causes so others can help them too.

“Through our culture and our Prologis Parks we strive to be a force for good in local communities. This campaign will help us come together and show how, with the support of our customers and supply chains, we can make a real difference to charities and community groups.

“It’s also a great chance to use the three volunteering days given to us by the global business and put them to good use – something we think every company should do, where possible!”

Prologis’ employees and customers have been encouraged to submit suggestions for charities and organisations to support through the initiative. These cover a variety of causes, including tackling food poverty and hunger, supporting refugees and migrants, giving back to the elderly, or helping those with disabilities.
