Potter Logistics has moved into property development after signing up with developer Barwood to create a new Merseyside warehouse.
Barwood Developments (North) Ltd and Potter Logistics have entered into a joint venture agreement to deliver a new logistics development on the 16 acre “Draco” site in Knowsley Industrial Park.
The site is next to Potter Logistics’ rail freight terminal.
Knowsley industrial park is already home to Hermes, Capita, Matalan and QVC, could see a unit up to 275,000 sq ft.
CBRE, B8 Real Estate and Fox Lloyd Jones will market the site.
Matthew Lamb, managing director of Potter Logistics, said: “This is a well-timed and exciting development for the region. It represents a significant opportunity to springboard the redevelopment of the Knowsley Industrial Park creating capacity for the businesses to expand as the economy returns to growth.”
Andrew Dickman of Barwood Developments (North) said: “In a market where there is now a serious lack of supply of warehouse and manufacturing stock certainty will be key, and our ability to deliver these units on an already allocated site will be well received by occupiers”.
Earlier this summer Potter Logistics signed up for a new 87,650 sq ft Merseyside warehouse.
They agreed to take the former DHL unit at Charleywood Point, Knowsley Industrial Park.
