Looking to optimise on its property and land portfolio, Potter Logistics has appointed a property professional to its management team as Group Property Manager.
Robert Barker brings with him 27 years’ experience within the property industry as a qualified Chartered Surveyor, starting his career in London with Markheath Properties. Barker has joined Potter Logistics after recently working with Creative Space Management and In-Sight Property Solutions - another family firm based in his home town of Leeds.
With developments such as its A1M50 development based at Potter Logistics' head office in Ripon and Draco development in the North West, Barker will be an integral part of the team to bring these projects forward together with Potter’s joint venture partners.
Barker’s role will also include working alongside Potter’s general managers supporting them in existing and future property opportunities as well as aiding the Business Development team when attracting new clients to Potter Logistics current property projects.
Barker explains: "I started my career as a student on a building site during three consecutive summers and realised I don’t like being outside all the time. I like buildings and meeting people - that was why I aspired to be a Chartered Surveyor rather than take the traditional construction management route.
"Potter Logistics is a great people company. They have a wide range of projects and with this new role I feel it will be a great challenge for me. I am looking forward to getting to know all the sites as well as the staff and being part of the Potter Team."
