Planners have approved a 216,000 sq ft M1 motorway warehouse at South Normanton.
Joint venture partners, Richardsons Capital LLP and Thorngrove Land & Property Limited have been granted planning permission for a speculative 261,000sq.ft. high-bay distribution warehouse on the South Normanton Industrial Estate in Derbyshire, known as “Nickel 28”.
The site is close to junction 28 of the M1. South Normanton Industrial Estate is already home to a number of high profile occupiers including XPO Logistics, Alliance Healthcare, Synseal and Diversity.
Lee Charnley, Managing Director of Thorngrove Land & Property, comments: “Bolsover District Council was very supportive of our proposed scheme recognising not only the high quality design of the building but also that it provides a much needed solution to the region’s lack of large distribution warehouses. We are confident that Nickel 28 will appeal to the increasing demand from logistics companies searching for premises along this popular central M1 corridor.”
“We are keen to start on site as early as this September and are currently going through a tender process with a number of construction companies so that we can appoint the right contractor as soon as possible.”
Cushman & Wakefield and Commercial Property Partners have been retained as the joint letting agents.
