Pharmacy2U (P2U) has joined an illustrious list of key speakers for this April’s SHD Logistics Conference at London’s British Museum.
P2U will join robotics experts at two of the most innovative supply chain operations in the UK, Ocado and Amazon, Wincanton and ex-Senior Traffic Commissioner and Think Logistics chair Beverley Bell, CBE.
This year’s The Logistics Awards 2017 Overall and New Facility Award Winner P2U will discuss how the company has helped to reinvent the pharmaceutical supply chain. The speaking session, covered by head of pharmacy Naila Dad (pictured), will discuss how P2U, along with its partner Logistex has utilised technology to help create and meet the Government’s pharmacy commitment to increase efficiency.
Both P2U and Logistex embarked on to build a facility that was capable of delivering high volume prescription orders direct to patients at a lower cost than the traditional high street model and ensuring the highest level of clinical accuracy, currently unsurpassed at 99.98% accuracy.
P2U has harnessed the power of new technology and sophisticated logistics systems for its brand new pharmacy of the future. The project integrates a range of technologies, including automated twin headed dispensing robots, pick to light, conveyor and an automated packaging solution.
Dad, who was present to collect both awards at last September’s The Logistics Awards gala, has developed and managed its pharmacy operations team over the last 18 years. She has played a lead role in the design and implementation of the award-winning automated pharmacy facility, which has achieved the highest level of clinical accuracy within the pharmacy industry. Naila has a Masters in Business Administration from Bradford University, as well as her professional qualification as a registered and practising pharmacist. She gained clinical and management experience with Boots and an independent pharmacy before joining Pharmacy2U in 2000.
