PDiC Ltd, a Chesterfield-based storage and partitioning specialist was invited by fellow Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce member Techman Engineering Ltd to tender for a new suite of partitioned offices.
Techman's MD Simon Oxspring was impressed with PDiC's attention to detail and duly awarded the project. Since then, following successful completion, Techman - a precision engineer in oil drilling equipment - has placed further orders with PDiC.
These comprise a cantilever rack installation to store heavy stainless steel bars, and a mezzanine floor for its stores area to free-up vital floor space.
Simon Oxspring also asked PDiC's MD Stephen Shaw whether his company could design and install a building extension over its goods-in entrance, required to give undercover marshalling. Using its in-house engineers PDiC rose to the challenge in designing and project managing a 6,500 sq ft portal frame building. Liaising closely with the Techman management team, its operations were unaffected by the construction works.
Alongside this project was an additional phase; the construction of a built-up outside yard storage area needed to accept further cantilever storage racking, also supplied by PDiC. Both projects were started in September 2013 and completed before Christmas of the same year.
Simon Oxspring said: "PDiC took control of the project from planning application to completion, coping with inclement weather and all of our logistical demands. We never missed a delivery, which is vital as the majority of our products are exported by sea - we cannot miss a consignment booking."
