Ergo Real Estate, on behalf of Aver Property (its JV with NFU Mutual) has completed the letting of Orion in Markham Vale North, to Smurfit Kappa, a FTSE 100 company and world leaders in paper-based packaging. Smurfit Kappa is taking Orion Two which is 75,958 sq ft of space on a 10-year lease. Orion One was let just over a month ago to National Lighting, who will occupy 224,424 sq ft, which means the entire development is now fully let.
Aver Property Partnership concluded the development with HBD in May 2021, delivering high-quality logistics space to meet the growing demand in the logistics sector. Located just a few minutes from J29a of the M1, this development offers exceptional warehouse space in an established location.
Orion has strong sustainability credentials and has been constructed to a carbon zero building specification, achieving a BREAAM ‘Very Good’ and EPC A rating. Markham Vale is a partnership between HBD and Derbyshire County Council and is a 200-acre business park with direct access to the M1 via a dedicated junction. It is one of the region’s flagship locations and has been a catalyst for the creation of thousands of new jobs.
Leigh Burnett of Ergo Real Estate commented: “We are delighted to have let Orion 2 to Smurfit Kappa to further strengthen their presence at Markham Vale. Smurfit Kappa join National Lighting who took occupation of Orion One in August and it is fantastic to have two such high calibre tenants taking these units. The Orion development is now fully let within 6 month’s of Practical Completion and is testament to the quality specification of the buildings and strategic location”.
Colliers International and Burbage Realty represented Aver, whilst Knight Frank represented Smurfit Kappa.
