Ashfield Land’s plans for an 8m sq ft rail-linked logistics hub in Northampton have moved a step closer to development.
Ashfield will begin public consultation of the Rail Central site plan at the end of April. The firm is expected to apply for planning permission in the first quarter of 2017. If it wins approval work on site could begin by 2019 with occupiers moving into new units in 2021.
In January, Roxhill’s plans for the 6m sq ft East Midlands Gateway Rail Freight Interchange site at Kegworth were approved by planners.
